In February 2014 at MWC, Mozilla introduced an array of new Firefox OS devices. Included in those were the Alcatel OneTouch Fire S and the ZTE Open C. The firm also unveiled some developer-focused hardware. It didn’t take too long for that kit to be made available for pre-order. That day has now arrived.

Mozilla has said the Flame is a representation of a mid-range kind of hardware that the firm is expecting to target in the coming year. The handset comes bootloader unlocked, as you would expect. It will receive updates to each major Firefox OS release. It also includes the ability to sign up for nightly builds, which will get users the very latest version of Firefox OS.
Although the Flame’s specification list is not exceptionally impressive in comparison to a high-end device that is available on other platforms, it does have a respectable feature set for Mozilla’s Firefox OS.
The cost of $170 for the Flame is looking like a good deal for anybody that is interested in Firefox OS development. The device also includes a software configurable RAM feature, which will allow the user to emulate different devices.
If you are interested then just head over to online retailer Everbuying and check it out.
