Finally, Microsoft Surface enthusiasts have the option to use their favorite tablet on the go without having to rely on establishments offering Wi-Fi – free or for a fee. Today, the Microsoft Surface 2 with 4G LTE is being launched and will be available via Microsoft Retail Stores, MicrosoftStore.com, and Best Buy.

The caveat? The Microsoft Surface 2 with 4G LTE is only available under AT&T. The good thing about this is that the carrier has been making moves to make their pricing schemes more attractive, especially with their family plans. Their Family Pricing scheme, in particular, has three main tiers:
- 2 lines at $130 per month
- 3 lines at $145 per month
- 4 lines at $160 per month.
For more lines, there’s a limit of 10 lines for $15 per line. These packages include 10 GB of shared data and unlimited talk and text.
The Microsoft Surface 2 with 4G LTE is powered by a Nvidia Tegra 4 processor and has 2GB of RAM. It also has a 10.6-inch full HD display, USB 3.0 slot, 3.5 MP front-facing camera, and 5 MP rear camera.
If you have LTE on your other devices, you know just how much battery power it devours, but according to Microsoft, the Surface 2 with 4G LTE can last you 10 hours.
Other details you might want to know if you’re looking at getting a Surface 2 with 4G LTE:

How much will the Surface 2 with 4G LTE set you back? It depends on your location, according to AT&T’s web site. If you check the Microsoft Store, though, the device goes for $679.00. This price point is actually competitive compared to other tablets in its range, and if you’re more focused on work productivity, then the Surface 2 with 4G LTE might be the optimal tablet for you.
